戰勝巴薩後，狂喜的莫里老大以破紀錄的速度來到新聞發布會現場， "能進到八
強實在太讓人興奮了，而且我們還擊敗了世界最強球隊 - 這是你們媒體說的！"
被問到自己本身有什麼感覺，老大說： "前進八強是最重要的事，我希望巴薩能
贏得西甲冠軍。如果今天是我們被淘汰的話，我也會祝福巴薩拿到歐冠冠軍。但就我
個人而言，快樂來自於我想贏球，我是因為工作、贏球、為切爾西拿下比賽才得到報
酬的，這就是唯一對我來說有關個人的事情。如果輸球了，我會獨自承擔責任。"
問題回到比賽本身， "我們以 1-2 這個比分開始這場比賽，我們失去大量的進

By contrast, subdued Barca coach Frank Rijkaard appeared almost
shell-shocked at the outcome of the tie. Blaming the defeat on individual
errors and a lack of maturity amongst his players, he added: “I don’t
think it’s fair to dwell on these individual errors too much. I’d rather
dwell on the fact that we had enough chances to finish off the game.
“With the score at 3-2, that’s us through to the next round but the
last goal really finished us off. One team managed to score four goals,
the other only managed to score two. That’s the important thing.”
When pressed, the Dutchman admitted that he felt bitter over his
team’s Champions League exit.
“I always feel bitter after a defeat. I think that’s logical. I
feel bitter because we didn’t succeed and I feel bitter as well because
it would be a great opportunity for us to make a statement, to stay in
line and behave correctly. But maybe I feel a little bit more bitter
because of all of the lies that were told before this game, the lies from
the home game and the things that were created.
“With everything that surrounded this game, it makes you want to win
that little bit more. And that makes defeat that little bit worse.”
