Bayern Munich general manager Uli Hoeness has confirmed they have made a
move for Chelsea defender Robert Huth.
The 20-year-old has forced his way into contention for a regular place in
the German national team, and his potential has made him a target for Bayern.
Hoeness said: "We have spoken with Chelsea and his agent. We will look into
it more when the time is right."
Bayern are poised to lose defensive trio Robert Kovac, Thomas Linke and
Sammy Kuffour at the end of the season.
Germany's national coach Jurgen Klinsmann has told Huth he must be a Chelsea
regular in the build-up to the 2006 World Cup or risk losing his place in
the heart of defence.
But Chelsea have Huth under contract until 2008 and the Premiership leaders
insist he is going nowhere.
Huth could face Bayern as Chelsea meet the German side in the quarter-finals
of the Champions League, with the first leg at Stamford Bridge on 6 April.
