Pizarro back for Bayern Munich

Peruvian striker Claudio Pizarro came through his first training
session yesterday, Sunday, since limping off with a groin strain
the weekend before the first leg against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
He, Roy Makaay and Argentine defensive midfielder Martin Demichelis
are all available after missing th 4-2 defeat last week.
Coach Felix Magath put on a confident front at his pre-match press
conference at the Bayern training complex.
“We will be playing better than we did on Wednesday in Chelsea,”
he promised through an interpreter.
“I don’t say we will be playing 6-4, but 2-0 or 3-1 and that will
be sufficient.
“One advantage for us will be playing at home and another benefit
is that we know what we have to achieve. I think that once we have
taken the lead it will get more difficult for Chelsea, they will be
under new pressure, and it has happened more than once that a team
under pressure makes mistakes.”
He dismissed the suggestion that Michael Ballack dived for the last
minute penalty at Stamford Bridge by pointing out that German teams
are used to more protection than English and that Chelsea were allowed
liberties while at home.
He admitted that Didier Drogba had been a problem and claimed his
team were now ready for him. “I have to admit we did not have our
perfect day last week and this was one of the reasons. He also
benefitted that the referee was full of benefits for his actions.
Kovac was always stopped by the referee. This will not be the case
this time.
“Kovac now knows the strengths of Drogba and now knows how to
correctly assess those strengths, and I think the defence will be
able to handle Drogba.”
Bayern Munich has sold out the Olympic Stadium for the game which
means a 59,000 crowd.
