Frank Lampard and Adrian Mutu were on their countries’ scoresheets on Saturday
but with different outcomes on the road to the World Cup.

Frank set England on its way to a 2-0 lead against Vienna in the Austrian
stadium where John Spencer scored after a 70 yard run for Chelsea in 1994, but

were held to a 0-0 draw with Israel in Paris. William had a good scoring chance

Alexei Smertin was another who was frustrated. Slovenia equalised three minutes
from time after Russia had wasted several chances and had a penalty saved.
Final score: 1-1.
冰島-古德約翰森
Eidur Gudjohnsen scored a penalty for Iceland but they were already two down at
home to Bulgaria and finally lost 3-1.
賽蒙-凱子
Mateja Kezman came off the bench for the last 25 minutes when the score was 2-0
as Serbia & Montenegro won 3-0 in San Marino.

On loan Mikael Forssell played all 90 minutes of Finland’s 3-0 win at home to
Andorra but for once wasn’t on the scoresheet.

On loan Juan Sebastian Veron and Hernan Crespo have been mysteriously left out
of the Argentina squad to play in Peru having originally been called up.
Speculation has it that because their clubs refused to release them for a
friendly against Japan recently, they are now suffering.
