Very few of Chelsea’s players have been left at the club due to the call of
international competition.

Games are being held next weekend and the following midweek, so there will be
little time left for preparation for the away match at Aston Villa in 12 days.


The players’ agenda is below.


Petr Cech - Czech Republic: Holland away, Sep 8th.

Glen Johnson - England Under 21s: Austria away Sep 3rd; Poland away Sep 7th.

Celestine Babayaro - In London.

Claude Makelele - France: Israel home Sep 4th; Faroe Island away Sep 8th.

Alexeï Smertin - Russia: Slovenia h Sep 4th.

Ricardo Carvalho - Portugal: Latvia away Sep 4th; Estonia home Sep 8th.

Adrian Mutu - Romania: Macedonia home Sep 4th; Andorra away Sep 8th.

Frank Lampard - England: Austria away Sep 4th; Poland away Sep 8th.

Mateja Kezman - Serbia & Montenegro: San Marino away Sep 4th.

Lenny Pidgeley - In England.



On loan players in international action are Mikael Forssell (Finland), Juan
Sebastián Veron and Hernán Crespo (Argentina), Carlton Cole (England Under
21s) and Alexis Nicolas (Cyprus Under 21s).


First year scholar Michael Mancienne is joining up with England Under 21s.
