NEWCASTLE, April 16 (Reuters) - Manager Jose Mourinho says Chelsea will offer
Italian goalkeeper Carlo Cudicini a new contract in a bid to persuade him to
stay at Stamford Bridge.

Cudicini has played only 11 games this season for the Premier League champions
thanks to the form of Petr Cech.
'We want to give him a new contract,' Mourinho told reporters after a 1-1 draw
against Newcastle in the final game of the season.
'I think that the most important thing to try to keep him is to show him
respect and love and trust and I believe we have shown him all of these things
throughout the season.'

Cudicini, 31, is one of Chelsea's longest-serving players, having moved from
Castel del Sangro to London in July 2000 under Gianluca Vialli. He was
first-choice goalkeeper until the arrival of Czech international Cech at the
start of the season.
A new contract could keep him at Chelsea until he is 35.
'The goalkeeper is not a position you can change every week so I couldn't play
Petr one game, Carlo one game as you do sometimes with a right back or
midfield player because it is a very specific position.

'If we can give him a contract that makes him feel we really want him for the
future, then we'll have the two best goalkeepers in the country and then I can
sleep well...'
如果庫哥留下的話,卻爾西將擁有英超最好的兩名守門員..
Mourinho says Cudicini played an important part in his club's record-breaking
endeavours this season, including most Premier League wins, points and clean-
sheets as well as fewest goals conceded.
酷哥的表現使的卻爾西能以15球打破最少失球的紀錄~~
'His last save to keep out the Patrick Kluivert header is a save that gave us
the record (of fewest goals conceded),' Mourinho added.

其實庫哥也是從預備對熬出頭的.....只怪當年的De Goey 名氣太大....
另外以庫哥的實力,完全有資格在豪門級別的球隊做主力...
前幾年上場機會最多的時候,也曾多次入選國家隊門將候補~~
也有一些義甲聯賽的豪門想要來挖他...
