Johnson and Cole get internationals off to good start

Glen Johnson, starting his first international as he won his third
cap, and Joe Cole, helping set up both goals, played all 90 minutes of
England’s 2-1 away win over USA last night, Saturday.
Cole’s pass for Andy Johnson led to the free-kick from which Kieran
Richardson gave England the lead. Cole’s run and pass released Richarson
for the second.
Cole played on the right of midfield to allow debutant Richardson to
appear on the left, but switched to replace him after an hour when he
went off with a hamstring injury.
Johnson switched from right-back to left-back with 15 minutes
remaining after Ashely Cole had gone off with a hamstring injury and
substitute Phil Neville had been moved forward to bolster midfield.
England play again on Tuesday when they face Columbia in the USA.
