Cole vow to (critical) Mourinho
Joe Cole has told Jose Mourinho there is a lot more to come from him after
the Chelsea boss criticised his game.
Mourinho attacked Cole's defensive qualities despite the midfielder getting
the winner against Liverpool.
"He has a lot to learn," said Mourinho. "I think he has two faces - one
beautiful and one I don't like. He must keep one and change the other one."
But Cole said: "I think my game is getting better and better. I'm playing in
one of the best teams in Europe."
Cole added: "They have got great players here who aren't even on the
substitutes bench so I'm learning from them every day and I am learning from
the boss as well."
The 22-year-old only came on against Liverpool because of an injury to Didier
Drogba and the side's other strikers, Mateja Kezman and Adrian Mutu, being
out through injury.
He got the vital winner after flicking in a shot from Frank Lampard's
free-kick but Mourinho was not happy with his overall performance.
The Portuguese boss said: "Joe Cole scored a goal which was very important.
He played really well in terms of attacking dynamism.
"When he scored the goal the game finished for him. After that I needed 11
players for my defensive organisation and I had just 10.
"Joe can be a regular but he has to improve when the team needs him to be part
of a defensive organisation."
Cole says he will talk to Mourinho about the matter more when he gets back
from England duty but the playmaker is taking the comments in a positive
manner in his bid to "become a mainstay in the team".
Cole added: "I don't take any criticism personally, especially from someone
like our boss.
"He has no axe to grind with me, he just wants to make me a better player.
So I'll listen to him and take it on board.
"It's all about Chelsea really. There is a real good team camaraderie and
the boss only wants to make us better players."
Cole was a regular in the Chelsea first team up until two games ago when
Damien Duff returned.
But the ￡6.6m signing from West Ham is happy to be involved after being a
bit-part player under ex-boss Claudio Ranieri while others like Scott Parker
fail to even get a place on the bench.
"There is still a lot more to come from me but its going to be there when its
there," said Cole.
"I'm enjoying playing my football at the moment. There were time last year
when I didn't enjoy my football but this year I'm loving it.
"I was disappointed to be left out of the last two games because I felt my
form was good. But I've come back in now and I think there is just something
for the manager to think about there."
He concluded: "Without wanting to speak about certain players individually I
just think this is a massive club and sometimes I have to pinch myself and
think I am playing for one of the best teams in Europe here.
"I think about where I have come from and I am here now and I want to win
something with Chelsea."

小喬的確很少撤回防守, 達夫會協助小布...小蘭也會回撤,其他中場也是
小蘭鐵人之稱一部分也是這樣, 助攻防守都看得到他XD
也許這是拉老常讓小喬板凳的原因..
他也不像達夫會緊迫盯人...老大雖嚴格挑剔...但說的也對
也許小喬真的防守不行, 他鏟球斷球很容易被吹哨, 效率不是很好
不過,老大公開批評小喬太不給面子, 希望這樣不會造成內部矛盾
小喬加油!小蘭的成功不是沒有原因的.
