Reserves in home action

Chelsea reserve team coach Mick McGiven makes three changes to his team to take
on Coventry City at home tonight.
Yves Ma Kalambay is in goal in place of Lenny Pidgeley while Anthony Grant, a
second-year scholar is given his first start of the season at this level,
coming into midfield in place of Nuno Morais who is away on Portuguese Under 21
international duty.
Morais is joined in the Portugal U21 squad by Filipe Oliveira which leaves a
vacancy in the attack. That will be filled by 18 year-old Italian Michele
Gallaccio who was top scorer in the youth team last season with 13 goals.
That goal touch would be of great benefit to the current reserve team if
Gallaccio can make the step-up as the inability to finish chances has proved a
problem in the absence of an out-and-out goalscorer.
The reserves have so far found the net just once in three home games and will
be looking to improve that record against a mid-table Coventry side that has
won one, drawn one and lost one on its travels.
Their side tonight will feature former England youth defender Dean Leacock who
is on-loan from Fulham, Scotland Under 21 keeper Scott Shearer plus experienced
French defender Eric Deloumeaux. Andrew Whing, Neil Wood and Eddie Johnson, the
last on-loan from Man United, have first team experience.
The full Chelsea line-up tonight will be:
Lenny Pidgeley, Dean Smith, Michael Mancienne, Steven Watt, Sam Tillen,
Jimmy Smith, Anthony Grant, Danny Hollands, Michelle Gallaccio, Danny Woodards,
Joe Tillen.
Subs: Nick Hamann (gk), Ben Hudell, Adrian Pettigrew, James Younghusband,
Philip Younghusband.
Coventry:
Shearer, Hall, Giddings, Deloumeaux, Leacock, Whing, Barry, Wood, Johnson, Reid,
Thornton.
Subs from: Nicell, Tuffey, Osbourne, Mackey, Davis, Bains.
