Duff transfer unlikely - Souness
Graeme Souness has admitted that Newcastle are unlikely to be able to prise
Damien Duff away from Chelsea.
The Newcastle manager told The People newspaper: "We have been linked with
Damien Duff but I am not sure if he will want to leave London.
"But that is the type of class player we want in order to improve this squad
because he is of the highest standard.
"We have some good players here but if we want to do well we need a few
additions. We are light."
Souness plans to ask Newcastle chairman Freddy Shepherd to free up funds for
top-quality new signings.
