Bolton boss Sam Allardyce has praised the impact Jose Mourinho has made
since joining The Premiership with Chelsea.
The outspoken Portuguese tactician has taken the West London outfit to the
division's summit and Allardyce has nothing but admiration for his work.
Mourinho is one of the few managers in England who does not possess a
substantial playing history of his own and this is something which intrigues
the Bolton boss.
"He intrigues me," conceded Allardyce to The Sunday Times.
"What fascinates me is that he has built this great career when he was
never really a footballer himself."
"That's the hard route. He's had to convince everybody he could do this
job because there was no track record as a player."
"Roman Abramovich has given him the means to have the best players but he
mustmould them into a team and he seems to be achieving that almost
immediately."
"That's not down to his coaching, that's his man management."
Earlier in the campaign Allardyce elected not to pursue apparent interest
from Newcastle but he does concede that had Chelsea come knocking, then he
would have found their advances difficult to resist.
"If Chelsea had come to me, I would have said yes. No question," he admitted.
"You are talking about its backer creating a monster that might not be
caught for the next decade, if the manager gets it right."
