Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has revealed he would rather land the Premiership
title than the UEFA Champions League.
At the turn of the year Chelsea head The Premiership and have safely guided
themselves to the latter stages of Europe's premier competition.
Last season saw Mourinho claim the Champions League with unfancied Porto
and despite the thrill of that success, Mourinho maintains that domestic
silverware is his number one priority.
"I must say that I would prefer to claim The Premiership because the
Champions League I have already won,'' Mourinho told El Mundo Deportivo.
"In the Premier League we have part of the work done while in the Champions
League the luck factor has a great importance.
"On the other hand, to be the best in Europe I think it is first necessary
to be the best in the country that one plays.
"When I won the Champions League with Porto, the previous season we had
won the Portuguese league and the Uefa Cup.
"It will be impossible to repeat the success of 2004 that I had in Oporto.
"Sincerely, it is a year to remember but at the same time, it is important
to forget and watch for the future.
"If I think too much about the past, I could forget my objective - to make
champions of Chelsea."
