Paul Terry helped Yeovil Town go clear at the top of League Two, and then
revealed he had heaped the pressure on his brother - Chelsea and England star
John - by scoring his fifth goal of the season. Paul, the older brother, scored
Yeovil's second as they beat Shrewsbury Town 4-2 in an incredible match at
Huish Park, in which four goals were scored and two players sent off in the
final 19 minutes.
Yeovil had Colin Miles dismissed for a late tackle on 71 minutes - and soon
went 2-1 behind in front of their second 7,000-plus home crowd of the holiday
period.
But when Luke Rodgers was sent off for swinging a punch at Andy Lindegaard,
Yeovil were able to take control and goals from Terry, Adrian Caceres and Kevin
Gall sealed the win which took them three points clear of Scunthorpe.
And Terry, playing in central midfield in place of the injured Lee Johnson,
revealed how important his goal had been in his personal duel with his brother.
"I think John will be a little bit worried now. He has got six goals and I am
on five," he joked.
"We have a little bet every season, and I don't think he has won many.
He went 6-1 up and was giving me a bit of stick, but I have pulled it back to
6-5.
"I think he is feeling the pressure a little bit. And three of goals were
Champions League goals, so I said they don't count!"
Yeovil manager Gary Johnson will consider recalling Roy O'Brien from his loan
spell at Weymouth, after Scott Guyett limped off with a hamstring problem and
with Miles now facing a three-match ban.
