Forssell loan at an end

    Mikael Forssell’s loan spell at Birmingham City, which was due to
last for the full season, has been formally cancelled.


    The 23 year-old striker began a second season at St. Andrew’s having
finished top scorer there with 19 goals the previous campaign. However in
September, after just four games, he suffered a knee injury that required
surgery.


    The recovery will keep him out of action well into the new year,
allowing a cancelling clause in the loan agreement to be activated. His
rehabilitation has been carried out under Chelsea’s supervision and that
will continue.
