http://itv-football.co.uk/Teams/Chelsea/story_141334.shtml Chelsea, Monday January 24 2005 Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has denied criticising England captain David Beckham. Mourinho said: "David Beckham is someone I respect as a man and as a player. He is the captain of England and has been a European champion. "I have never been critical of him and reports that imply that are totally incorrect as I have never made any comments directly about him." ========================================================================= They now face the return leg of their Carling Cup semi-final at Old Trafford on Wednesday and Mourinho has urged his players to remain cool as they approach a critical period of the season. Mourinho added: "I was very happy with our performance against Manchester United. They are a great team and they did very well to clear two of our shots off the line. If we score against them at Old Trafford, then we will give ourselves a good chance of going through, despite being away from home. "We have a tough schedule coming up but we have lots of outstanding players and we must stay cool. "We haven't won anything yet. There is a long way to go and I still believe, as I did at the beginning of the season, that we mustn't get carried away. "We've not won the top English league for 50 years and are concentrating solely on that. We're out in front but we're still along way away. We need 11 wins from 14 games and the run-in starts here." Terry said: "It was a good draw against United. I think they surprised a few people with how well they played, especially with Ryan Giggs and Roy Keane missing. "They gave it a go and didn't sit back. It was a tight game, but only because neither team was conceding ground. "Everyone is saying that United have the advantage now but that's not true. We will approach the Old Trafford game like any other. We go there optimistic that we can win." Midfielder Tiago harbours the same feelings and the confidence is so high in the Chelsea camp that they believe they can score anywhere. Tiago explained: "We know that we can score in almost every game so we are confident that we can score the goal we need. "At home, we tried to win. It wasn't possible but that's no problem. Now everything is open for the second leg and we go to Manchester like it's a normal league game - to win. "For me, the first leg was a game without problems. You have a feeling that it could be difficult because it's two great teams with great players. "Manchester United is a big club but things are fantastic at this club and for us, it's a normal game because it's another you have to win." 為什麼14場聯賽只需要贏11場? 阿森那和曼聯不算在內嗎? -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 61.218.33.2
