Back from Moscow and back to work

A delayed return from the trip to Russia was followed by a day’s rest for the
Chelsea squad but preparations have now begun for the visit of third-placed
Everton.
Wednesday saw the players remain at home after they reached their beds well
into the morning London-time. The practicalities of exiting a wintry Moscow
airport had taken some hours.
Thursday however has seen a full training session at Harlington begin
mid-morning as thoughts turn back to the Premiership.
Joining Didier Drogba on Chelsea’s short list of players receiving medical
treatment were Alexey Smertin and William Gallas, Smertin having missed the
CSKA game with a groin strain while Gallas was substituted during it with a
neck strain. Neither has been ruled out of contention for Saturday’s clash
with Everton.
