McClaren hopeful over duo

Boro boss Steve McClaren is hopeful of landing Chelsea duo Bolo Zenden and
Geremi within the next few days.

Those deals will take the number of new faces up to five - all established
international players - ahead of the team's first pre-season friendly at
Rotherham next Wednesday.

Zenden - impressive on loan at the Riverside last season - could complete his
move within the next 48 hours, following strikers Mark Viduka and Jimmy Floyd

Riverside.

Geremi is another familiar face on Teesside. He became a fans' favourite on
loan from Real Madrid in the 2002/03 campaign, but his move to Chelsea last
summer has not been a big success, as he has found himself edged onto the
sidelines by the form of Claude Makelele and Frank Lampard.
