Frank Lampard insists you cannot help but be impressed by new Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho. The England midfielder was scheduled to arrive in the United States on Thursday with the rest of the squad for the start of a three-match tour following his return from an extended break after Euro 2004. Despite only having worked directly with the coach, who guided Porto to Champions League glory last season, for a few days earlier this week, Lampard revealed a visit from his new manager while away on international duty struck a chord with him and his Chelsea team-mates in the England training camp. "When you get a new boss, everyone wants to know whether they are in his plans, regardless of what has happened in the past," said Lampard. "He went out of his way to come and tell us that, and we respected him for that immediately. "There's a unique style to his management, and there is a feeling that will be good for us. "What he did last year was very impressive. He brought his own style of management to the forefront and everyone was impressed." With the arrival of several new faces ahead of the new season, Lampard hopes Mourinho will show some continuity by handing John Terry the captaincy on a permanent basis following Marcel Desailly's retirement. "John Terry was a very good figure as a captain last year, so I would not be surprised he was captain again," said Lampard. "John is a great player and great professional and was very strong as captain last year and would thoroughly deserve it." Lampard, 26, enjoyed a fine domestic campaign last season as Chelsea finished runners-up in the Premiership and reached the semi-finals of the Champions League before turning his attentions to helping England make the last eight of Euro 2004 in Portugal. It is club matters which now focus the attention of the midfielder, who returns to a Chelsea rejuvenated following the arrival of Mourinho - and with him a string of top-class signings. Those have included a club-record fee, believed to be 24million, spent on Ivory Coast striker Didier Drogba from Marseille, while Portugal international Tiago also completed his transfer from Benfica - reported to be worth 8million - in time to board the plane to Seattle. Coupled with the acquisition of former Porto full-back Paulo Ferreira and PSV Eindhoven striker Mateja Kezman - not to mention Dutch winger Arjen Robben and Czech Republic goalkeeper Petr Cech who had already agreed to join Chelsea before the change in management - and it is easy to see why confidence is high within the Chelsea ranks for the season ahead. Lampard was reported to be attracting interest from some of continental Europe's top sides, including Inter Milan, but he hopes to pen a new, long-term deal soon with a club he believes are on the verge of something special. "We have made some impressive signings," reflected the England midfielder. "We want to be successful. There is a real freshness about the club as a whole. He declared: "The Real Madrids and the Manchester Uniteds are the benchmark - they are the ones who have been successful for the last few years and we are trying to get up there with them. "I think with the power we have with the owner and a very exciting manager it means that as a player why would you want to go anywhere else? This is a club going places." Chelsea's US tour schedule will see them face Celtic in Seattle on Saturday, before taking on Roma in Pittsburgh on July 29 and completing their schedule with a match against AC Milan at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia on Monday, August 2. It is unclear yet how long Tiago will remain with the party, having being called into Portugal's squad for the Olympics in Athens next month. The 23-year-old midfielder, though, is determined to become an integral part of the set-up at Stamford Bridge. He said on Chelsea TV: "There are big players in my position, but I go to work - then Mourinho will decide." ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 此外...有機會要去野台喔...美式類比裝置真的很讚 -- Deny your conditioning.Cry.Love your friends.
