Lampard loving life at Chelsea


Frank Lampard has insisted he would be "a happy man'' if he spent the rest of
his career at Chelsea.


The England midfielder has committed himself to Stamford Bridge for the next
five years after reaching agreement on a new contract during the club's
pre-season tour of the United States.


Lampard had been in discussions with the club over a new deal since the end of
last season and can see himself at the club for the remainder of his playing
days.


"I didn't have any doubts about re-signing because ever since I came here I've
enjoyed playing at Stamford Bridge,'' Lampard said.


"The relationship with the fans has been fantastic and I didn't want to go
anywhere else.


"I'm a London boy and I wanted to keep playing for Chelsea. To play here for
the rest of my career would make me a happy man.''


He added on Chelsea TV: "It's a great feeling to be tied down, not to have it
mentioned anymore. I can concentrate on football and concentrate on being
successful.


"I'd like to think that hopefully these years will be the best of my career.
I'm generally fit and I hope to stay as fit as I can for as long as possible.
Hopefully in the next five years I'll show the best of what I've got.


"I think we can achieve what we want to achieve. We've got the manager in place
who the players are very happy with now, we've got the players, the camaraderie
between the lads, and it's just a question of going out there and doing it."
