ENGLAND UNDER 17 TRIO MAKE FINAL

England Under 17s made it through to the Final of the UEFA European
Championships for the first time with the help of three Chelsea players.

England beat France 1-0 in Thursday evening's semi-final of the
Belgium-hosted tournament and joining regular selections Michael Woods and
Nana Ofori-Twumasi on the pitch was Tom Taiwo. The Chelsea midfielder made
his second substitute appearance of the competition, coming on in the
second-half.

Woods played the whole game in midfield and soon after Crystal Palace's
Victor Moses had scored early on, supplied a pass for an opportunity for a
second, not taken by Arsenal's Rhys Murphy.

Ofori-Twumasi continued in his right-back role, Chelsea's three-player

At England Under 19 level, defender Michael Mancienne, who made 30
appearances on-loan at QPR this season, has been named in the squad for
next week's European Championship Elite Qualifying Round.

England take on Russia, Holland and Czech Republic, the top side winning a
place at the finals in Austria. Matches will be played in Walsall
(15 May), Coventry (17 May) and Northampton (20 May).
