fitting into the youth team last season with an extended pro contract in
the summer. Originally rejected as a schoolboy by Leeds United, he had
played there with current Chelsea colleagues Michael Woods and Tom Taiwo.


A stand-in youth team captain, Carl has progressed to regular reserve team
appearances.
