Blues investigating Ferreira debt

Chelsea are looking into whether they owe Estoril ￡270,000 as part of their
￡13.3m signing of Paolo Ferreira.
The Portuguese club are threatening legal action unless they receive the money
in the next 10 days.
Under Fifa rules five per cent of an international transfer fee must be shared
between players' former clubs as a "solidarity" payment so Estoril, Ferreira's
first club, appear to have a strong case.
The Portuguese right-back spent three seasons at the club as a teenager before
moving on to Vitoria Setubal and FC Porto so both clubs are entitled to profit
from his summer move to West London.
An Estoril spokesman said: "We have granted a 10-day deadline for Chelsea to
settle this debt."
