BRIDGE EDUCATION SCHEME CELEBRATED

It was school children rather than players taking the plaudits at Stamford
Bridge earlier this week when an end of project celebration for the Playing
for
Success education scheme took place.

Carlo Cudicini, representing the current squad, plus ex-Chelsea and England
international player Graeme Le Saux were also in attendance to meet the
children and hand out certificates and prizes.

Playing for Success is an out of school hours study support programme, which
is supported by the DfES and local authorities, as well as football clubs and
other sports grounds nationwide.
《玩出成功》是一個校外學習資助計畫，支持這項計畫的有教育與技能部（DfES）和本地
團體，甚至足球俱樂部和世界各地其他運動場地。
The initiative uses sport to inspire local pupils who may have become
demotivated or are at risk of under-achieving.

The project gave children the opportunity to take part in educational
activities at centres at Stamford Bridge, Craven Cottage and Loftus Road. Each
centre focused on a different curriculum area: Chelsea on literacy, Fulham on
ICT skills and QPR on numeracy. Results were very positive in all areas.
這計畫給予兒童有機會參予在斯坦福橋、克拉文別墅和羅夫圖斯路的中心具教育意義的活
動。每個中心都專注在不同的教學課程：切爾西-讀寫；富勒姆-資料科技；女王公園巡遊
者-數理。各方面的成績都非常樂觀。
Part of the Stamford Bridge project involved creating newspaper front pages
with many a Chelsea headline used!

Fifty participating children from local primary schools and their parents were
invited to the Bridge this week to celebrate their achievements.

Carlo Cudicini said at the event: 'I have seen some of the test results and it
is unbelievable how a lot of children achieve a very good result when football
is linked with school. The people working with this programme must be very
proud.

'Maybe I would have done better at school! When you study something and link

Rebekah Orr, PFS Manager at Chelsea, said: 'The joint Playing for Success
project has given the children a unique opportunity to benefit from the
fantastic facilities and expertise at each of the Playing for Success centres
at the three football clubs in Hammersmith & Fulham.'
《玩出成功》在切爾西的經理Rebekah Orr表示："這項合作的《玩出成功》計畫有很棒的
設施，加上在三間俱樂部中的每一個《玩出成功》中心裏的專家，讓孩子們有一個獨一無
二的機會去從中獲益。"
