John Obi Mikel will not be called up to the Nigerian squad for the 2008
Beijing Olympics.
米克爾將不會參加奈及利亞的2008年奧運
The Chelsea midfielder is not under consideration as a result of his refusal
to take part in qualifying fixtures.
Mikel admits that he is disappointed to miss out, but will now focus all of
his attention on helping his club side to European glory.
雖然米克爾難過沒在陣容裡面,但是他將會注意幫他的俱樂部取得歐洲榮耀.
"I have not heard from Samson Siasia, the coach, and I have heard that he has
not included me in the squad. I don't agree with that." he told skysports.com.
"我沒有聽過教練講過,而我聽說他沒把我放到陣容裡面,我不同意這點"他跟天空體育說
"However my mind is set on winning the Champions League with Chelsea, it is
the biggest game in the history of the club and I want to be part of that."
"不過我準備要在切爾西拿歐冠,這是個重要的比賽而且我想成為當中的一份子"
Despite being rejected by his country on this occasion Mikel was still keen
to point out that he has no intention of making himself unavailable for
selection in the future.
