Although Lampard has been shortlisted for the European Footballer of the
Year award and the Onze Mondial Europe team of the year, it was learning
that Mourinho rated him the No 1 that mattered most. “Has he? Wow,”
Lampard said.“Well, he's the man I want to please more than anyone else,
so I'm delighted he's saying something like that about me.

"I feel I'm doing well at the moment, I'm very confident and he's the man
we work for. I've got a lot of belief in him and when he says things like
that, I know he has the same belief in me.

"Winning either award would be a massive thrill for me. I'm just happy to be
talked about among the names that are on the shortlist and among recent

get in the box to create openings. I don’t set targets, but I’m determined
to stay out in front as long as I can.”
