Terry's Highbury habit

John Terry’s first-half equaliser on Sunday was his fourth goal in five
seasons against Arsenal and his third headed success in front of the
Highbury North Bank. Naturally the facts have not escaped the Chelsea
captain.
Talking to Chelsea TV soon after his latest goal, Terry said: “It is
good to keep coming here and scoring, all at that end I believe, so
touchwood it is going to keep happening.

“Tiago has been doing well for me,” he added, moving onto the fine
detail of the goal. “He comes into the box and I say to him more or
less every corner to block my man and he must be getting frustrated. He
must be thinking - ‘I keep coming up and all he tells me to do is block’
- but he blocked Sol Campbell for me and I managed to get on the end of
the corner.”

The importance in the timing of the goal is emphasised by Eidur Gudjohnsen.
He said of Terry: “He is our leader and once again he has popped up with
a goal at Highbury which seems to be a regular thing for him. That is what
you want from your captain. When you are down he comes with that little bit
of extra inspiration and it spreads into the team.”

Terry continued: “I don’t think we deserved to go in at half-time 2-1
down. We got a little bit of a telling off at half-time but we came out and
gave the manager a response and we kept it tight after that so overall it
was pleasing.

“It was a London derby battle. I thought we gave as good as we got. We came

wasn’t in our minds at all and it certainly wasn’t in the manager’s mind.

“The team meetings were all about going there, beating them and pulling
eight points away from them but it wasn’t to be. Looking at it overall
though, I think a point is a good result.

一分是不錯的結局.
