NO CITY SURPRISE FOR JOE

Sven Goran Eriksson has overseen Manchester City's best start to a season
since 1970, but Joe Cole is not surprised at the former England coach's
success.

Cole won 37 of his 45 England caps under the Swede, and is well-placed to
speak of Eriksson's managerial qualities, which have so far led City to

In terms of coaching methods, Eriksson is one of those managers whom few

Eriksson has been credited with bringing the best out of Cole, as well as

'I played some good stuff under him for England, but I'm still only 25 so
I'm hoping my best years are still ahead of me,' he said. 'During the last

He certainly did a good job for England and should be proud of that.'

was at many training sessions of the England national team when he was

Chelsea's backroom staff boasts experience of working with Eriksson too,

Lazio is not easy, they are not the biggest club, so it is a major
achievement.'

injection of cash from Thai ex-prime minister Thaksine Shinawatra, Cole
believes we should not be too surprised.

believes the future is bright for the young defender. He said: 'Physically
