DROGBA - AFRICA'S NUMBER ONE

Didier Drogba has been named African Player of the Year for 2006. Michael
Essien came third.

迪迪埃˙德羅巴當選為2006年非洲足球先生。邁克爾˙埃辛排名第三。


Both Chelsea players attended the award ceremony in the Ghanaian capital
Accra where the result of a poll of the continent's national coaches was
announced.

兩名切爾西球員都參加了在加納首都阿克拉舉行的頒獎典禮，該大洲的國家隊教練員
們投票產生了結果。


Second was Barcelona's Samuel Eto'o who failed to make it a record four
wins-in-a-row.

巴塞隆那的埃托奧排名第二，他沒有能夠創下連續第四次獲得該榮譽的紀錄。


It's the first time a Chelsea player has landed the African honour and the
first Ivorian win. Drogba was runner-up last year when he was narrowly
pipped by Eto'o. Essien once again was third.

George Weah, who spent half-a-season on loan at Chelsea in 2000, had been
a winner back in 1995, 1994 and 1989, the first of those coming in the
days when France Football magazine carried out the poll.

曾經在2000年被租借到切爾西半個賽季的喬治˙維阿曾在1995、1994和1989年當選。
在1995年，他同時被《法國足球》雜志評選為“金球獎”獲得者。


These days the official honour is the result of Confederation of African
Football (Caf) committee members choosing a shortlist of three which is
then voted upon by the 53 national coaches. The full results has Drogba
with 79 points, Eto'o with 74 and Essien 36.

今年，該榮譽是非洲足球聯合會(Caf)委員會成員評選中一個三人的名單，然後由53
個國家隊主教練評選出最終的結果。最終的投票結果為：德羅巴79票，埃托奧74票，
埃辛36票。


Speaking at the award, our star striker said: 'It is a great honour to be
recognised. I feel an indescribable joy and it's also a reward for all the
sacrifices I have made in the past.'

在頒獎儀式上，我們的明星前鋒說：“這是一個巨大的榮譽。我感到了一種難以形容
的喜樂，這也是我在過去一段時間所做的所有犧牲的獎賞。”


In addition to his good form for Chelsea in 2006, Drogba has been
recognised for his achievements with Ivory Coast whom he took the final of
the African Cup of Nations and into the country's first ever World Cup
tournament.

德羅巴獲得這個獎項不僅是因為他2006年中在切爾西的出色狀態，同樣由於他隨科特
迪瓦國家隊取得的成績，他帶領球隊打入了非洲國家盃的決賽，並帶領球隊歷史上首

Needless to say, both Drogba and Essien were selected in the 2006 Team of
the Year with Arsenal's Emmanuel Eboue and Kolo Toure plus Tottenham's
Didier Zokora the other Premiership players to feature.

勿庸置疑，德羅巴和埃辛都入選了2006年的非洲明星聯隊，同時入選的還有阿森納的
埃布和圖雷以及另一名英超球員托特納姆的佐科拉。


The Chelsea two headed back to London immediately after the ceremony.

切爾西的兩名球員在參加完頒獎儀式後將立即回到倫敦。
