Following our third game in a week and with the FA Cup quarter final
replay on Monday, Chelsea put in a thoroughly professional performance
doing enough to secure maximum points.

Two early goals also allowed Jose Mourinho the luxury of giving midfield
maestro Frank Lampard a well deserved second-half rest.

because then it's harder.

Special One stated positively: "I expect to be in the final."

Back to the game though and Shevchenko's early stunning strike which put
us into the lead.

first and the third better than the second. That's the natural evolution
of a striker."

"Did you see how Sheffield was playing today?" asked Mourinho. "Man-to-man.
One thing is playing man-to-man, one thing is playing zonal.

"For example, in Italian football everybody plays different. Zonal
defence, the lines are compact, not a lot of pressure on the ball, not a
lot of individual marking, a lot of teams playing counter-attack and in
counter-attack, strikers get much more space.

"In English football, it's completely different. It's difficult for a
player to adapt - especially for a striker. But he's scoring, not an
amazing, but a good number of goals in all competitions. He's playing much
better in relation to the team-mates and to the team idea.

"He's a happy boy, he's improving. The same feeling that I have that his
best is still to arrive is also his feeling."

One man who wasn't that impressed with our first goal was Sheffield
United's colourful manager, Neil Warnock. "The first goal is - how can I
say without being too insulting? - poor marking! But they are a fabulous
side and I think we did fantastic to lose 3-0!"
