Ray Wilkins believes the Champions League final defeat cost Avram Grant
his job.

老老老老老隊長認為決賽失敗造就格蘭特的下課。


The former Chelsea skipper says the fact that the Blues ended the season
without any silverware was the reason he was sacked on Saturday - and it
wasn't a pre-determined decision.

本賽季四大皆空，外加三亞王。


Grant's eight-month spell as Jose Mourinho's successor brought runners-up
medals in the Carling Cup, Premier League and Champions League and that,
says Wilkins, is why his friend Roman Abramovich wielded the axe.

格蘭特的八個月任期為我們帶來了卡林盃 英超 歐冠................... 的亞軍。


"I thought he did a good job," he told Sky Sports News.

 "我認為他幹得很好。"


"There was the Champions League final, they took the Premier League to the
last day of the season, but unfortunately when you manage such big clubs
like Chelsea and there's no silverware at the end of the season, steps
will be taken to make sure there is next season.

 "我們進入歐冠決賽，英超最後一天才分勝負，但很不幸的我們是大俱樂部，沒有獎
盃意味著失敗。"


"Unfortunately that's happened to Avram. I'm disappointed for him, I have
to say."

 "阿夫蘭很倒楣，我同情他，我必須這麼說。"


Many believe that Grant was a goner whatever the result in Moscow.

很多人相信不論拿不拿得到歐冠，格蘭特都得走人。


Wilkins does not buy into that, but he did agree that the Israeli was
facing a near-impossible task in taking over from the self-styled Special
One.

老老老隊長不吃這套，但他相信接任莫里尼奧是最不可能成功的任務。


"Coming in to take over from Jose Mourinho was always going to have been
extremely difficult for anybody," he said.

 "在莫里尼奧後面接主教練這個位置太困難了。"


"Jose Mourinho is probably the most charismatic man in football and for
someone to come in and take on that mantle was always going to be
extremely difficult."

 "他可能是足球圈最富有魅力的教練，接他位子，算你倒楣。"


Mark Hughes and Frank Rijkaard are among the early frontrunners to take
over the Stamford Bridge hotseat.

馬可˙休斯和黑天鵝里杰都有可能來到斯坦福橋。


But with Mourinho possibly on his way to Inter, Wilkins would like to see
their outgoing coach, Roberto Mancini in charge at his old club.

但莫里老大似乎要去英特了，老老老老老隊長希望曼奇尼來接任。


"If Roberto Mancini is free from Inter, I would say Roberto might have a
chance because they are looking for people who have won, who are winners
and who will win again," he said.

 "因為他有冠軍經歷。"
