Mourinho: We need 100pts to win title


LONDON, Sept 5 (Reuters) - Chelsea must aim for at least 100 points if they
are to win the Premiership, manager Jose Mourinho was quoted as saying on
Sunday. 'If you lose much more than 10 points, then it's difficult to be
champions,' Mourinho said.


Maximum points from the season's 38 league matches is 114. Champions Arsenal
picked up 90 last season when they completed the 38 matches unbeaten, finishing
11 points ahead of second-placed Chelsea.

'You have to make sure you get wins against teams like Southampton, or all
the good work we did when we beat Manchester United on the first day of the
season is for nothing,' Mourinho added.


Mourinho's Chelsea have won their first four league games, starting with a
1-0 home victory over United. They came from behind to beat Southampton 2-1
at home, the only goal they have conceded, in their most recent match last
weekend.


They trail the champions on goal difference, however, and Mourinho added:
'You know that there is going to be a tough battle against Arsenal to gain
all six points and you can't afford to lose much more than that.'
