Taking a while to gather himself after a game in which we came back from the
dead - eventually (surely you didn't think we would lose at home to Spurs!),
Jose Mourinho described the cup tie as: "A great game but a game with mistakes
.

always mistakes. We made some defensive mistakes but the game was magnificent,

For the third game out of the last four, we found ourselves behind but
fortunately with enough time to redress the situation.

Following Tottenham's second goal, Mourinho wasted no time in changing tactics,
taking off Paulo Ferreira, to play with three defenders at the back. Yet by
half-time, the Special One found himself in unfamiliar territory - with three
goals conceded at home.

Both managers admitted they weren't great fans of referee Mike Riley's
handling of the game, and had spoken to him at half-time about some of his
decisions.

For Jose, in the first-half Riley had given too many decisions against us.

Responding to suggestions that Mourinho had sworn to Riley in Portuguese, the
Special One defended himself with:

15 words. I tell this to myself when I am not happy with something, I tell it

The Tottenham manager, Martin Jol was in agreement with Mourinho about the
refereeing and explained his half-time chat with Mr Riley.

"I told him that this crowd react to everything and he shouldn't let it
influence him."

He too felt that his words had little effect on the man in the middle as he
had two players booked minutes from the restart.

Answering a question on his thoughts about an alleged dive by Arjen Robben
early in the second-half, Jol was extremely supportive of his fellow-countryman.

"He's a great player. I'm from the same country so I know him probably better
than you. He's probably the most talented player in England. His style is that
