Directors speak on Ranieri and Lampard

一開始先澄清一些選帥的事情
“He has three years left on his contract and we have not come to any
decisions beyond that yet,” said Peter Kenyon to a Chelsea audience of 200
about Claudio Ranieri last night.
Peter Kenyon and Bruce Buck, chief executive and Chelsea Village
chairman, spoke at the Supporters’ Night Out about all the spiky issues
raised after a three course dinner.
Bruce Buck added: “No-one has been appointed,” in response to the
speculation as to who might be manager next season.
Kenyon denied offering the job to Sven-Goran Erikson, or as Buck teased
him: “You’re friend Sven.”
“We never got beyond talking,” said the chief executive.
談到蘭帕德和佐大叔
Frank Lampard’s contract was raised and Kenyon was adamant. “We are
not going to sell Frank Lampard.”
He also said that work was continuing to hold a game for Gianfranco Zola
, and beyond that to bring him back to working at Chelsea. “But you have to
remember he is still a professional footballer, and if he comes back he
wouldn’t be playing anymore.”
Buck emphasised the importance of the desire to return Zola to the
Bridge. “We have made him aware of that.”

The two talked in detail about training facilities, season ticket policy
, tickets for European games, the club badge, the positioning of away
supporters and, entertainingly, the state of their relationship with Ken
Bates and the possibility of increasing ground capacity.

The former chairman was amongst the 200 and joined in the banter when
Bruce Buck asked him whether they should knock down the hotel. His reply is
not reportable! Buck retorted: “Is that a yes or a no?”
