Ranieri blasts players
Chelsea manager Claudio Ranieri blamed his players after their defeat at
home to Bolton.
The Blues led 1-0 after Hernan Crespo's opener, but Bruno N'Gotty
equalised just before the break and John Terry conceded an own goal close to
full time.
The defeat means Chelsea are no long top of the Premiership and Ranieri
wants his players to make sure they turn possession into goals in future games.
"The first half was very good for us, we played very well and dominated
the match," said Ranieri.
"But we must score more goals when we have the opportunity to score a goal.
"We then defended badly and conceded a goal by leaving their player
unmarked, and in the second half we were tired and lost the plot.
"Everyone wanted to do more, and there is always a problem when players
try to do too much. No, we must play football and remain calm.
"Bolton were better than us in the second half, they closed all the space
and hit us on the counter attack, and it was easier for them to score than for
us.
"In the second half we played badly, everyone wanted to run with the ball,
and they deserved to win."
