Sven is right to 'consider' - Ranieri



Chelsea manager Claudio Ranieri believes Sven-Goran Eriksson is right to keep a
n open mind on the possibility of a job offer from the Blues.

Responding to Eriksson's admission that he would consider any approach from
Chelsea should one be made, the man currently in charge at Stamford Bridge
claims the England coach is simply being sensible.

Pushed for his thoughts on the matter, Ranieri asked: 'What is the change?

'He is right. He must open the door - it's normal.'

Ranieri admits he may be equally suggestible to a move in the opposite
direction, once his time at Chelsea is done.

'I said a long time ago that I would like to manage a national team - Italy,
England - a big team. I would like to do this,' he conceded.

'It would maybe be better, but I like to manage Chelsea Football Club.'

Speaking on Thrusday night at the Cambridge Union, flanked by the FA's
executive director David Davies, the Swede said: 'There has been no offer
[from Chelsea] but if there was one I would have to sit down and think about
it. If anyone made me a job offer I would have to consider it.'

Eriksson is contracted to lead England for the 2006 World Cup in Germany but
has already been given the chance to extend that deal by two years.

'There has been an offer to stay with England which we will discuss in February
,' he added.
