The Italian coach is under increased pressure after the arrival of Roman Abramovich at Stamford Bridge and has bought in a number of new players. Now he is coming to terms with the fact that the new arrivals are still adapting to their new team-mates and success will not come instantly. "We are not yet a team," Ranieri said to the News of the World. "When you change so many players, how do you get them used to each other, to know each other? It's very difficult. "Hernan Crespo doesn't know Damien Duff and Adrian Mutu doesn't know Crespo. That's the reality and it's a problem. "People have to understand the work I have in front of me. We can't be like Manchester United, Arsenal, Real Madrid or Milan." He added: "This is a hard time. When you are trying to build round the foundations, you have to win every game or it's not good enough." With the influx of so many new faces the Blues chief has been forced to leave many stars kicking their heels on the bench or sitting and watching in the stands. His policy of rotating the team has been suggested as the major reason behind the team's recent patchy form in the league. "Maybe I have to do things differently - try to speak a little more to those that are not playing for a start," said Ranieri. "I spoke to my squad at the beginning of the season. I told all my players they were fantastic and if they were at this club it was because I believe in them. "I also told them that nothing would be the same this season. I said the most important thing is to have a spirit which makes us a team. "Systems don't win games, players do and I know I've been criticised in the past for changing too much. "But I've been successful by using every tactical system in my career and I will continue to do so as I see fit." Ranieri is adamant that the club will succeed under his stewardship and he understands the need for flexibility in his style of management. "I'm ready to change systems whenever I need to," he stated. "I adapt to the players at my disposal. "I'm not wed to one particular formula, whether to use a winger like Damien Duff or a man in the hole behind, for example."
