BLUES BREAK MENTAL BARRIER

Claudio Ranieri believes Chelsea's midweek win over Stuttgart has
helped the team battle through their mini crisis.
The Blues' hopes of domestic glory were effectively dashed by Arsenal
in a two-game spell recently, which made their clash with Stuttgart in the
UEFA Champions League of paramount importance.
Chelsea were short of their scintillating best, but were good enough to
grind out a 1-0 win.
Ranieri feels the win has helped the players overcome a psychological
hurdle and will aid them for the remainder of the season.
"This result gives us a charge for the rest of season," Ranieri told
Gazzetta Dello Sport. "At the beginning we were nervous because we still
had the weight of the two losses against Arsenal.
"Then, after we scored, even if with luck, we have unblocked ourselves.
This was simply because ours isn't a physical problem, but a mental one."
Ranieri believes Chelsea are suffering due to the fact that he has been
allowed to spend so much money assembling his star-studded squad.
"The fact is that when we are away, the opponents make their match, so
they give us space," he said.
"In our stadium, the opponents close themselves and wait. It makes it
really difficult to overcome them."
