    Emmanuel Petit does not expect his Chelsea contract to be renewed when

it runs out this summer.


    Injuries have restricted French World Cup winner Petit to seven games

this season as Chelsea have boosted their midfield resources.


    Petit, 33, who cost Chelsea ￡7.5m from Barcelona, is keen to stay in

London, and almost moved to Spurs last year.


    He said: "There have been no talks between me and the club. I don't

believe they want me to stay."


    Petit joined Chelsea just under three years ago but accepts the

situation.


    He told the Evening Standard newspaper: "It's not a shame, it's a

business these days.


    "I hope to come back before the end of the season but I don't think my

future will be at Chelsea."


    The former Arsenal midfielder is confident he can prolong his career at

another club, preferably in London.


    He said: "I love London and there is life in me yet."
