Jose Mourinho will kickstart Chelsea's January transfer window clearout by
getting rid of Romanian international Adrian Mutu.
Claudio Ranieri, Mourinho's predecessor, lavished ￡16m on the much-travelled
forward 14 months ago, but Mourinho has rapidly lost patience with the player
who in the summer saw a loan move to Juventus fall through.
Mutu, 25, has made just two appearances as sub this season and with Mourinho
now rumoured to be looking to bring back on-loan Carlton Cole from Aston Villa,
Chelsea are set to off-load Mutu for ￡5m.
Juventus have continued to be linked with the player, despite the collapse of
their proposed deal two months ago, but are likely to face competition from
Internazionale and Barcelona.
