     This young forward signed for Chelsea in the Autumn of 2001 having
impressed in his home country of Portugal in the youth ranks of FC Porto.
Chelsea were prepared to pay ￡500,000 for this untested star-in-the-
making.


     A Portuguese under-19 international, Oliveira only made a handful of
substitute appearances for Chelsea in his first few years at the club, but
has plenty of potential to make more of an impact in the future.
