     Portuguese-born but nurtured in the London area, Filipe is an
attacking right-sided player with pace and a good shot. Now in his fourth
full-time year, he turned professional in July 2003 but his time at
Chelsea has been badly hit by injury. He returned to reserve action in
December last year and has since produced some strong performances.
