By chance I found myself at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium tonight to watch a
Real Madrid cup game. It was a moment to see how Chelsea`s most costly sale,
Arjen Robben, was faring at his now home.

Arjen Robben left Chelsea over the summer for a
princely ￡26 million, making him Chelsea`s most costly sale. Real Madrid was
the buying team who felt that the player who had spent most of last season in

Since then, Robben has been giving Madrid more of the same: he has played
very few matches: this was only his 5th start of the season, thanks to a
complicated series of injuries. He`s been subbed on a few times also. So far,
Arjen Robben has failed to complete 90 minutes of football, over 4 months
after transferring to Madrid.

it was his first goal in a Madrid shirt, Robben`s celebrations were modest.

was also failing to track back when Madrid lost possession, and at one point
he also dived in a quite blatant fashion to try to get a player booked.
Madrid`s captain, Guti, had been giving him some quite dirty looks all
evening. Except when he scored.

meant extra time. Seconds before the final whistle, Robben burst into the
box. Instead of taking a shot, he passed back to Guti, who was just outside
the D. Unmarked, Guti had all the time to place an unstoppable shot into the
corner. Cue mad celebrations: the ref barely had time to allow a kick-off
before the final whistle. It was a very lucky escape for Madrid.

Robben was more or less the man of the match, despite his languid
performance, simply because he had provided the two key moments that allowed
Madrid to win. His work-rate was poor compared to his team-mates, but with a
minimum of effort he had yielded results. It was, however, the first full
match he has played in a Madrid shirt.
無論如何魯本是本場最佳，盡管大多時候他的表現讓人失望，他只是靈光突現了兩次，就

In hindsight, it was everything that we knew of the player; it still seems
surreal that Arjen Robben could have passed a medical exam, let alone that
Real Madrid could have forked out ￡26 million for Robben. That`s ￡26
million which Chelsea still haven`t spent and will be using during this
transfer window.

Chelsea could do with more attacking players right now, particularly when a
few of those who are not injured will be leaving for the African Cup of
Nations. We could, indeed, do with the likes of Robben in our squad. Then
again, if he were still wearing a Chelsea shirt, Arjen Robben would
definitely be injured right now.
現在切爾西需要更多的進攻球員，尤其是在非洲杯開打后我們將失去一些沒有受傷的球員
