Johnson goes on loan

Glen Johnson has joined Portsmouth on loan for the whole of next season.
The 21 year-old England international right-back will be reunited with
Harry Redknapp, the manager who was in charge at West Ham when Johnson was
progressing through the junior ranks.
He was the first signing for Chelsea after Roman Abramovich took over the
club in the summer of 2003 but despite having played in 69 games since the
move, only eight came last season.
He made just 16 appearances for West Ham before his transfer so a season
on the south coast will provide the young player with important
Premiership experience.
