ZOLA ON THE MARK IN SERIE B DEBUT
Former Chelsea star Gianfranco Zola made a goalscoring Serie B debut for
Cagliari in one of only two scheduled games to be played.
The match in Sicily between home favourites Catania and Sardinian visitors
Cagliari finished 3-0 in favour of Zola's side.
Zola scored his side's third goal in his first appearance in the Italian
domestic championship since he ended a successful stay with Chelsea in the
summer.
The only other match played was the game between Napoli and Como who ran out
1-0 victors at the San Paulo Stadium with Mauro Bressan scoring the decider a
fter 79 minutes.
The other 10 scheduled games were not played because clubs are furious at the
decision to expand Serie B from 20 clubs to 24.
