Pre-season dates for the diary

Dates for Chelsea’s first two pre-season friendly games have been confirmed
with trips to be made to Wycombe and Portugal.
The majority of the squad reports back for pre-season training on July 6th.
A week later on Wednesday July 13th they will travel to Wycombe Wanderers’
Causeway Stadium to play the League Two side with a 7-45pm kick-off.

Then it is a journey abroad where freshly-crowned Portuguese champions Benfica
await. A friendly game in the new Stadium of Light, built for Euro 2004, will
take place on Sunday July 17th. The kick-off time for this game will be
confirmed shortly.

Jose Mourinho began his management career with a short spell at Benfica,
the Lisbon club also the home of Tiago until his sale to Chelsea last summer.
Benfica has recently appointed Ronald Koeman as their new manager, taking
over from Italian coaching legend Giovanni Trapattoni.
