http://www.chelseafc.com/article.asp?hlid=302114 Injuries cut squad for first time this season Friday, Aug 26, 2005 Jose Mourinho has revealed an injury list of three ahead of the London derby at White Hart Lane on Saturday afternoon. Asked for an update on the state of his squad following final training, Mourinho announced: “Robben is injured, Carvalho is injured, Wayne Bridge is injured. Ricardo is something in his calf, Arjen is his foot, Wayne Bridge also is his foot - but I cannot be very specific.” One player over whom there are no worries about his condition, despite the week beginning with the birth of his first child, is Frank Lampard. If the Footballer of the Year takes part in tomorrow’s game then he will extend his record run of Premiership appearances for an outfield player to 150. That is just nine games behind David James’ Premiership best for all players. Lampard showed no signs of fatigue during his two-goal performance against West Brom on Wednesday. “Sometimes you are tired from the physical point of view but if you have a fresh mind and fresh heart, it doesn’t matter,” said Mourinho. “I think that is what has happened to him. “For sure he is not sleeping so well, for sure he is running, training, hospital, house. But the heart is full and the brains are jumping with happiness. “I had thought about resting him in the past but I am aware of the record and I don’t want to break that just because I want to give him a rest. So until I can, I want him to continue on with his record because I think he will be unbeatable. 150 games - and 51 goals [in all competitions]. It’s fantastic!” No game against Tottenham can be looked forward to without another record raising its head — the fact that 15 seasons have now passed since Chelsea last lost a league game against Saturday’s opponents. The Chelsea manager refuses to be believe such an incredible run will be playing heavily on the Tottenham players’ minds. “Our record against Arsenal didn’t play on our minds when we played against them last week. It didn’t play on our minds when we had to play against Blackburn last season and they had a big record at Stamford Bridge. “We are professionals and we don’t look to that. Records are to be broken and it will not surprise me if they beat us one day. For me that is normal. But I think we are playing well again. We are confident and I think we can carry on with the record.” Tottenham are not without their own injury worries. Reports suggest doubts over the fitness of defender Anthony Gardner and new midfielder Teemu Tainio. Ledley King, Noe Pamarot, Sean Davis and another summer arrival, Wayne Routledge are listed as definitely out. Regardless, Mourinho experts tough opposition. “They play as a team and that is what makes them difficult for you. If a team has a good striker, a good central defender or a good keeper then it is never a threat to you. The problem is when they have good teams, have team organisation and structure and that is what Martin Jol is working at.” Mourinho also revealed that the intensity of the preparations for the game are such that both John Terry and Petr Cech declined the chance to attend the Champions League draw in person to collect individual European Club Football Awards. “I gave them permission to go. It is a nice situation for a player. But John Terry was with a little injury so he preferred to stay for his treatment and his recovery and Petr Cech didn’t play on Wednesday. He said to me he didn’t want to be without work Wednesday and Thursday. That was their option.” For Chelsea fans attending tomorrow’s game at White Hart Lane and intending to leave by bus, Tottenham have issued the following travel warning: A number of bus routes away from White Hart Lane are subject to diversions after our next two home games against Middlesbrough and Chelsea. Routes 149, 259, 279 and 34 will be diverted from Tottenham High Road via Bruce Grove, Lordship Lane, The Roundway, The Great Cambridge Road, and Sterling Way returning to normal line of route at Angel Corner (Fore Street). This will apply for both directions. The above will result in buses not serving Tottenham High Road and Fore Street, between Bruce Grove and Angel Corner. The diversions will come into effect from the end of each home game. Route W3 will curtail at White Hart Lane junction with The Great Cambridge Road. The above will result in buses not serving Northumberland Park and White Hart Lane (east of the Great Cambridge Road). Buses will revert to their normal line of route as soon as possible, this will probably be about forty five minutes to one hour after the end of the game. The above is subject to change at short notice. by Paul Mason -- ╔══╗╔╗╔╗╔══╗╔╗ ╔══╗╔══╗╔══╗ ║╔═╝║╚╝║║╔═╝║║ ║╔═╝║╔═╝║╔╗║ ║║ ║╔╗║║╔═╝║║ ╚═╗║║╔═╝║╚╝║ ║╚═╗║║║║║╚═╗║╚═╗╔═╝║║╚═╗║╔╗║ ╚══╝╚╝╚╝╚══╝╚══╝╚══╝╚══╝╚╝╚╝ -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 61.57.84.205
