     Markus Merk, the German referee selected to take charge of Tuesday's
game in Barcelona was the man with the whistle during one of Chelsea's most
famous Champions League nights.

德國裁判，默克。


     Merk refereed at Highbury in April 2004 when goals from Frank Lampard
and Wayne Bridge knocked Arsenal out at the quarter-final stage.

上次在歐冠贏阿森那就是他判的。


     Barcelona's Lionel Messi has cause to remember Merk as well. The young
Argentine, was sent-off by him on the occasion of his international debut
for an elbowing incident. Messi, of course was the player involved in Asier
Del Horno's red card a fortnight ago

他曾經40秒就把梅西紅牌罰下。


     Last season Merk refereed Barcelona's win at Celtic and in 2001, their
home draw to Galatasaray. Other notable games he has taken charge of are
the Euro 2004 Final between Greece and Portugal and the Champions League
Milan derby last season that was abandoned after flares were thrown by
Inter fans.
