Reaction: Cole - We owe fans a party

Amid disappointment in the aftermath of the semi-final defeat at Old
Trafford, Joe Cole made a point of paying tribute to the blue armada
that headed north to support the team.
“Fantastic again,” said Cole in praise of the 30,000-strong backing.
“They travelled a long way and spent a lot of money. Now we have to
give them a big party with back-to-back titles, hopefully next week.
We want to win it at home. It will be a fantastic season with back-to-
back titles which has not been done by Chelsea before.”
Not that the England international was finding it easy to forget the
defeat by Liverpool, nor his chance right at the death that could have
sent the game into extra-time.
“Obviously we are all very down and we just have to pick ourselves up.
I might not be the best player to miss a goal in the last minute of a
semi-final but I certainly won't be the worst.
“We didn't play at our best. Last week was an excellent performance
away at Bolton but this time we didn't get going. We take collective
responsibility.”
