NO MARGIN FOR ERROR AT THE TOP

As his team prepare for the task of taking three points off Sheffield
United this afternoon, Jose Mourinho has declared that the next alteration
either way in the six point gap between the top two could be the crucial
one.

'The next one to lose points will be in a difficult situation,' is his
assessment of the tight title race with Man United. 'A six point lead
changing to eight or nine points will be comfortable for them. Six points
to four or to three - that is what we need for the extra bit of motivation
we still have in our pocket. We are waiting for that.'
"誰掉鍊子都會使對方趁機而入，我們正在等待時機。"
The Chelsea manager believes it has been a significant achievement to have
re-established a six point gap.
而回到六分的差距也是非常關鍵的一點。
'When we played Portsmouth, we had two matches in hand and we were 12
points behind because Man United beat Liverpool in an early kick-off.

'When you are 12 points behind and you have to play two matches away,
Portsmouth and Man City, a lot of people could think we would lose some
points and create a more difficult situation.

'So the team was very strong in two difficult matches. Portsmouth we
played just before Porto and Man City just a few days after a big game
against Tottenham - so difficult circumstances and the players were very
strong.'

Mourinho's assistant Steve Clarke believes those same players will need
careful handling during this crowded period of games to ensure no
slip-ups.

'It is a difficult period for the team, high intensity games, but we have
got the squad, we have got the players and we will look after them between
matches. We will be strong and Tottenham have a similar schedule before
their game on Monday night.

'The Sheffield United game before that will be difficult. Any team put out
by Neil Warnock, you know they are going to fight and try to cause you
problems. We feel we have the quality and the players to win the match.'
