Reading have problems in attack ahead of the Carling Cup clash with Premiership
leaders Chelsea as Nicky Forster is their only fit striker.
Shaun Goater had knee surgery on Monday and is out for a month, while Darius
Henderson is nursing a groin injury.
With Steve Brown and Adie Williams both recovering from knee operations,
manager Steve Coppell will field an unchanged back five.
But Coppell may decide to alter his midfield with Scott Murray fighting to
return to the starting XI after being named on the bench against Watford.
Chelsea manager Claudio Ranieri must decide whether to give his star names a
break for the Madejski Stadium clash.
The Blues boss could rest key players in the wake of the victory against
Manchester United and ahead of Saturday's trip to Leeds.
Juan Sebastian Veron is battling the back injury which forced him to miss the
clash with his former employers United.
